It’s been a whole week since we launched from Georgia, US to the mission field in Central America! I still am amazed that I’m blessed to be able to live in Nicaragua for a whole month and experience it’s beautiful culture and people.

We will be living on the REAP Granada missions base for the next month while we help them with their mission and live life as the body of Christ with the other missionaries here.

I attached pictures below so y’all can see how beautiful it is here! I am constantly in awe of the glory that is proclaimed through God’s diverse creation.

The view from our dorm is incredible. We’re nestled at the base a beautiful mountain range with a volcano.

Our mission here is to love God and to love people. We will be living this out through going on prayer walks with locals and our teams through the local neighborhoods, leading VBS at local churches, and working to disciple the children of the workers here on the farm.

Since we’ve had to quarantine on the farm for the past few days, we’ve had a ton of time to rest and bond with our Father in heaven and each other.

Some highlights of the week….

— a dance party in the pouring rain last night complete with a performance of our squad wars dance for the REAP Interns

— celebrating sweet Marrissa’s birthday!

Scott surprised us with birthday cake. After being at training camp for two weeks and Nicaragua for a week desserts are rare and hard to come by, so what’s treat!

— getting to workout outside every morning on the porch in the outdoor gym. Getting to exercise surrounded by such beauty is such a gift.

— learning how to restring a guitar 🙂 thanks Hannah and Zach for your help!!

— Mango!! He’s the farm’s pet Kuwati.

— clearing a field with a machete. i sure felt cool 🙂

— the incredible sunrises and sunsets

— 5:00am prayer every morning. This is a REAP tradition that the whole staff does every morning.

— eating meals together as a “family”

— ice cream from a local ice cream cart!

— playing volleyball with the kids of the farmhands

God is so good.

He’s been teaching me so much. My heart is being shaped into what he wants it to be  . Being molded isn’t always comfortable. In fact it hurts a lot at times. God is taking the pieces of me that I thought I had together, packaged and wrapped in a pretty bow, and slowly, patiently showing me how broken I still am. But he doesn’t leave me like that. He catches me as I’m falling. He shows me that he needs to be the one to fill the gaping hole in my life. I can’t try to patch it up with anything less than my savior.

A woman at an event at training camp prayed over me that I would be satisfied with nothing less than Jesus. As I’ve been working on letting Jesus become my everything I’ve had glimpses of of what his all encompassing love can look like.

Scott, our ministry host has been having us read a book called ‘spiritual slavery to sonship’. It’s all about changing our perspectives of ourselves as an orphan to seeing ourselves as a son or daughter. We’re God’s kids. He loves us so incredibly much and so many Christian’s aren’t living in the freedom of that.

We start official ministry on Monday!! Prayers for peace, energy and health would be greatly appreciated. God has so much in store for us!!

I will try to post every Sunday! We only have WiFi if we go into town, and we only have Sundays free.
